Mehmet Selim Yavuz is the Founding Partner of the firm. He has a well-established, longstanding litigation practice in addition to assisting domestic and international clients with insurance, corporate and complex real estate matters.
Although Mr. Yavuz helps clients with all their commercial dispute resolution needs, he is particularly experienced in handling national and multijurisdictional commercial disputes involving enterprise transfers, distributorship and construction contracts, mortgage realization, brokerage contracts, bankruptcy and insolvency and high-value loan debt collection.
Mr. Yavuz also has extensive experience handling shareholder disputes arising from share transfers, mergers, debt recovery and compensation lawsuits. Furthermore, he assists clients with obtaining the appropriate recognition and enforcement of foreign court rulings arbitration awards.
In insurance-related matters, Mr. Yavuz advises on complex compensation lawsuits initiated against insurance companies and recourse claims. Due to his experience and expertise, he provides detailed legal opinions to leading Turkish insurance companies.
In 2005, Mr. Yavuz founded Yavuz & Uyanık with Murat Uyanık. Prior to establishing Yavuz & Uyanık, he spent five years working in a well-regarded Turkish law firm’s dispute resolution department. He is a member of the Istanbul Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
